Great Review from Libby Sheehan

We stayed in St Ives House for half term (Feb 2014). I am compelled to write a review because it was the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in (and we book holiday cottages regularly). We have three children, aged 14, 12 and 10 and it was perfect for these ages – i.e. older kids and teenagers (but it would also be suitable for babies). They loved the freedom to pop out and buy whatever they wanted to eat – there are so many takeaways and restaurants within a few minutes’ walk. They also loved the arcade just along the harbour, and, of course, the endless allure of the beach and sea. We saw a seal one day and dolphins the next. My 14 year old son was also impressed with the ‘cool’ shops.
The house itself is beautiful. As an architect, I have high standards, and it more than met them. I was impressed by the attention to detail in every room. I even loved the downstairs toilet! I spent many hours with a novel sitting in the swivel chair in the master bedroom – the view over the bay from here is stunning. Waking up to the view every morning was uplifting. My husband spent many hours in the nickel bath in the en suite bathroom, which has the same view!
The living space in the attic was ideal for a family. No expense has been spared on the technology, which includes an Xbox Kinect and all the TV channels you could want (plus Netfllix etc.). The owners have thought of everything and even left a box of batteries in case the remote controllers should run out of charge.
It was an unexpected treat to be able to sit out on the balcony. It has to be one of the best spots in St Ives – and, with a glass of red wine and a Cornish pasty – perfect!
I would thoroughly recommend this holiday home. It manages to blend taste and style with perfect comfort. The owners are extremely generous and helpful. There is everything you could possibly need for a wonderful holiday in what must be one of the most attractive seaside resorts in the UK.
